I spent a lot of time and energy researching latex mattresses. We first found that we loved latex by testing a mattress in our area. However I was skeptical of the customer service if we had any issues, and the overall quality and workmanship of the product. I decided online would give us our best selection. I found Astrabeds a long time ago, but started to doubt the confidence I had in the company with the more research I did. But, my husband and I ultimately decided that you are always going to find negative reviews, threads, blogs, etc. about every company, due to competition and just rude people. We came back to Astrabeds and pulled the trigger; buying the Solace Bed in Ultra Soft. We couldn't be happier. To say we love it is an understatement. We've only had it about 3 weeks now. And it did take a few nights to get used to it. But now we sleep extremely comfortably. I have neck and back pain, which has been extremely minimized after sleeping on this bed. My husband has back issues after having back surgery when he was in high school. We both feel this is the right bed for us. There was an initial latex scent for about a day after unpacking the bed, but it pretty much went away after that. The remaining scent you can still smell if you breathe into the mattress, but I actually like it...it smells clean to me. You can get in and out of the bed without the other person really knowing because it's so stable and doesn't affect the rest of the mattress when one person gets on or off. We did get the white glove delivery as the reviews made it seem like doing it yourself was a bit of a headache due to the awkward size of the packaging, etc. The white glove delivery could only delivery on Thursdays...which was a bit annoying to us. For white glove we would have expected more of a selection, however we just dealt with that. The white glove delivery team was not familiar with the product or how to set it up; fortunately it is dummy proof and really just unwraps and…

Comments:

We agonized over the various types of mattresses before finally settling on natural latex. It seemed to us that latex would outlast traditional box springs, we didn't like the horror stories concerning odors in memory foam, and the idea of an air compressor in the bedroom had zero appeal. Choosing a supplier was a little easier thanks to the solid reviews Astrabeds had garnered over a period of time. We spoke with at least three separate people at the company, and all were great in helping us narrow our choice. When in doubt, we always buy top of the line because we don't want to find out later that we should have worried more about quality than price. However, in this instance, the recommendations for the HarmonyBed line seemed so well founded that we opted for that instead of the SolaceBed, which is where we were leaning. We haven't looked back. The Harmony Bed Soft is PERFECT for both of us. I'm 6'2", 220 pounds. My wife is 5', 110 pounds--and we both love the mattress. We got the dual king on a Leggett & Platt Prodigy adjustable platform. As evening approaches, we actually find ourselves looking forward to getting into bed. The mattresses are wonderfully flexible and are the perfect companion to the L&P adjustable platform. We used to scoff at the idea of spending several thousand dollars for a mattress and foundation. Consider us new converts!

I had sleep apnea it turned out along with bursitis in hip area. I was miserable in former ( high quality spring ) mattress Desperate I was to get a good nights sleep. I had a hammock and sofa that worked, why not the bed. After a year I found this manufacturer, yep, not spending money on a bed I could not try out first. I was happy to see the guarantees, the other reviews and I went for it. Wife said old bed was fine but saw what was going on. So she said get it. Whats to lose. Well I now have a deep sleep, no more pain. None. Wife nows loves it, says she is happy we did get it as it is soft yet firm and I no longer have the other problems. Oh, I lost 25 lbs so the apnea went way down in severity so other factors came to play. As for the bed, it is well designed, love the supports sold with it, I do suggest you get these. Very well made and offer a cool effect by allowing the pad to breathe. No heat build up as former foam beds had. Another thing, get the pillows and honestly the mattress cover. Old one trapped heat in pillow top. So we got the whole package and love it. I tell everyone, pass on the links and we are 100% happy. Sounds corny, but true. I am 69 and won't outlive this thing, last bed Ill ever have to buy.

Shows how form fitting this is. All the former bed

Before making my final decision to get an astrabed, I had been doing tons of research trying to find the perfect one. The low environmental impact of astrabeds really appealed to me, as well as the amount of support (I have a back/neck injury from an accident. In my old spring bed, I would wake up periodically thorughout the night to move positions, and I would also wake in pain in the morning. I'm SOOO in love with our new bed! I have never had so many consectutive nights of good sleep! It's amazing! I did think the bed was much too firm at first (med/soft) and was planning on getting a down topper, but I procrastinated (thankfully) and I don't think I need to. I like the bed just the way it is. I'm VERY pleased with my investment!

Comments:

We were hesitant to order a bed sight unseen online. After several weeks of researching brands & types, we narrowed it down to 2 companies. We had decided on a 100% natural latex because we had a "latex" mattress for 3 years. It was wonderful for the 1st couple of years. Then we started getting up with backaches. Problem: It was "ditching". Turns out it wasn't 100% natural latex. The retailer & company weren't interested in hearing about it because it wasn't at least 11/2" breakdown--reputable retailer & company. Anyway, we talked with customer service of the 2 chosen companies & decided on Astrabeds. Deciding points--90 day trial, free shipping, 100% Tallalay process, no glue layers, sturdy construction w/organic cotton cover, optional purchase of replacement layer(s) in the future w/o replacing entire mattress & excellent customer service during both calls made. We also hit a 20% off sale which clinched the deal! Now that we have had the mattress almost 4 weeks, pressure points no longer hurt & low backache in the morning has greatly diminished--no longer sleeping in a "ditch". The bed also has a comfortable warmth, not hot, during the night. The real proof will be the next couple of years.

This is the best bed we have bought in over 40 years! Salesman was very helpful, bed was delivered quickly and was very easy to assemble. We both love the feel and never want to get out of bed. I also love that there are no chemicals in the bedding. Am hoping this will last us the rest of our lives. Pun intended.

Comments:

I have been struggling with difficulty sleeping because of arthritis pain in both hips. A side-sleeper, I would fall asleep on one side, wake up when pain in that hip became severe, turn over to the other side, wake up when the pain in the other hip became severe, etc., etc. I would toss and turn all night and wake up feeling tired and frustrated. I was curious about "memory foam" beds - but reviews of those beds convinced me that a mattress made from petroleum products which "off gassed" for weeks/months was not something that I wanted. I then stumbled upon "natural latex foam" mattresses during my internet research. I devoured information about the manufacturing process, reviews of the companies that sold the mattresses, comparisons of different types of these mattresses, etc. I was not comfortable with plunking down thousands of dollars on a mattress being bought sight-unseen, but given the stated return policy of the company, I decided to take a chance. And am I ever glad that I did! I purchased a California king SolaceBed - and ordered the softest configuration offered. I envisioned sinking into a fluffy, marshmallow-like poof and sleeping blissfully without hip pain. The mattress arrived in 2 large, very heavy boxes - about the size of hot water heaters. The delivery company left the boxes right at my garage door, per my request. I had no trouble using a small dolly to move the boxes into my garage. I carefully cut open the boxes and dragged out the contents onto the floor, then into the house and my bedroom, dragging the sealed plastic bundles over hardwood floors. I got the mattress bundles onto my bed with help from my niece. Once we opened the sealed plastic, the mattress inflated within minutes. The mattress cover and the 6 inch firmest layer were in one package, and the other softer layers were in the second. It was amazingly easy to stack the layers and zip the mattress pad closed. There was a faint "rubber" smell that was rather pleasant. I didn't…

We have had this bed for about a month. Our old mattress was terrible and we had constant pains upon waking up. This bed was very easy to set up and comfortable from the first night. My husband has slept soundly since it's arrival, and even I at 9 months pregnant have gotten great sleep on it. The cotton cover was very nice, but we have also added a wool mattress cover and now the mattress is perfect.

The main reason we chose this bed is because of it's non-toxic qualities, especially with our infant sharing the same room. The first night I slept on it, my usual back pain were minimal when I woke up! We are considering getting a king bed once we move into a bigger house. Great looking bed and you can tell it is a quality product.

This bed is as good as it gets .You might only sleep better if you are dead.My recommendation is to take the advice of the sales person on the proper firmness. These beds even though they feel soft are really quite firm.I was going to order the serenity bed and was talked into ordering the harmony bed and I wouldn't want it any firmer than it is.We tried the firmest arrangement and decided it was to firm and immediately changed it to the softest configuration. The serenity would have felt like a slab of concrete and I like a firm mattress.

Comments:

A bit unsure at first because we weren't able to "test" this mattress before purchase. Very glad we decided to purchase. Comfortable, yet firm. We ordered the Medium King size mattress, and it is a bit firm for a medium, but we are very happy. The pictures make it appear as though it is a very thick, or tall mattress. This is not the case - the mattress itself is only 8" thick. The text indicates this, but the picture makes it appear much thicker. Something to be aware of, but not a problem at all. Overall, very pleased with purchase.

Comments:

We are happy with the mattress thus far but has only been a few weeks. My husbands shoulder hurts less and i am getting deeper sleep. I will say that my customer service rep was outstanding. We had quite a few correspondence due to the delay in delivery. This was by fault of the ups side rather than Astra bed side because of holiday backup and our rep was very accommodating. The mattress is on the firm side but about what was expected after reading all the reviews. The foundation seems a bit cheaply made with the thin cover but we'll see how well it holds up. Heat/cool temperature is great. It does not trap heat and cook you. And it doesn't suck you in and make you gain momentum to roll to you side like memory foams.
